Every ENVE SES wheelset is hand built in Wide Open's specialist workshop by a master wheelbuilder. Our expertise and precise control over the build process ensure that every wheel we produce delivers the ultimate in performance and reliability.
As the most versatile wheel in the line, the SES 3.4 is the go-to for just about any terrain or surface conditions. From the Dolomites of the Giro d’Italia to the gravel of Unbound to the town sign sprint on the lunch ride, the 3.4 has proven time and time again that there are no limits on its capabilities.
The SES 3.4 carries over features from the previous SES 3.4 AR, such as the 38mm front and 42mm rear rim profiles and 25mm inner width, while receiving a laminate update that reduces weight. The high-volume design of the rim and Wide Hookless Bead technology not only makes the SES 3.4 a modern road rim that is raced at the World Tour level, but it’s also a favorite for mixed surface events due to its feature benefits that clearly separate it from other wheels in the same depth category. Pinch-flat resistance, low weight, and an aero profile optimized around high-volume tyres are key features of the SES 3.4, making it the most adept all-around wheelset.
R45 Centerlock™ hubs pair a lightweight hub body with King's legendary, made-in-house bearings. They give you 45-points of simultaneous engagement, and that means more of your power gets to the ground and your traction is better. These hubs just roll better, last longer, and looks way more handsome than anything else out there. The stiffness of their one-piece axle translates to laser-precise bike handling.

Tubeless represents the pinnacle of road wheel and tyre performance. Like the rest of the SES wheel line, the SES 3.4 has been optimized for road tubeless and features a hookless bead design that allows for the precise rim dimensions required to achieve the best tubeless performance.
A hookless rim design allows for machined metal tooling to establish a precise and consistent bead seat diameter. The resulting precision fitment between the tubeless tyre bead and the rim’s bead seat ensures optimum air and tyre retention.
Most flat tyres are caused by one of two things: Intrusion punctures (staples, thorns, glass, etc.) or pinch-flats (potholes, railroad tracks, rocks, etc.). While there is little we can do as a rim manufacturer to prevent punctures, our patent-pending Wide Hookless Bead greatly reduces the likelihood of pinch-flatting. Wide Hookless Bead technology works by providing a blunt surface upon which to bottom out the tyre, dissipating energy across a larger surface area and preventing tyre damage. This allows you to run the correct tyre pressure without the worry of pinch-flatting.
King hubs are manufactured entirely in-house in the USA, and are the first choice for riders who prize craftsmanship, performance, and long-term reliability and serviceability above all else. Our bearings, both steel and ceramic, have heat-treated, surgical grade steel races that are machined simultaneously to ensure perfect matching. The quality and speed of our bearings is what you will feel (and hear) on every ride.
As Chris King bearing tracks burnish they actually get faster. A little bit of regular love (and these hubs can be completely stripped down and serviced) will keep your hubs rolling for years upon years of demanding use. These hubs look incredible and get better and better the longer you own them - wear them in, not out.
